Divine Mercy Cross Stole
After taking inspiration from the tabernacle door of the
Marian Basilica in Krakow in Poland upon request, I designed and created the
following stole.
The violet stole is adored with the image of the sacred heart
of Jesus over the cross from which rays of shine fourth in reface to the divine
Mercy image. As it is all about LOVE what better image to have on a stole than
this to be used for confession. The cross, heart and ray are all neatly hand
embroidered and raised which makes the heart look quite three dimensional. The
rays are the blood and water, which gushed from Christ’s side in the passion
representing the water of baptism and all the sacraments. At the lower edge of
the stole, there are two row of Russian gold braid.
There is a golden cross at the centre back. The fabric print
is of Pugin design, which I felt complemented, the embellishments.
