Caritas Omnia Suffert Stole
This cream stole is adorned
with a banner reading ‘Caritas Omnia Suffert’ ‘Love through suffering’ the wise
and holy words of St
Josemaria Escriva founder of Opus Dei.
This stole was lovingly embroidered and embellished interlay by hand.
The most Sacred heart of Jesus
The Immaculate heart of Mary
The stole has on it the two heart
that of the most Sacred heart of Jesus and the immaculate Heart of Mary. Both
of the cream hearts have delicate stitches in golden thread to show veins of
the hearts. The sacred heart has a golden crown twisted around it with small
crystals that catch the light as if the heart it self glows.
The immaculate heart has a banner
of five roses all with crystals centers. All of the embroidery threads and gold
work used where carefully chosen to complement one another.
The font type has been taken from
the traditional Pugin style in reference to the beautiful Pugin work at Saint
Mary’s Oscott. Each letter has been embroidered with tonal threads and Gold to
give the appearance that it has been embossed.
The stole is backed in a rich
flock fabric, which adds to the quality finish of the piece. As this is to be a
gift, a panel has been fixed to the back with the date of ordination.
The simple
gold cross is another reference to Pugin design sitting neatly on a rounded
neckline so that it will drape perfectly across the back.
It has truly
been an honor to make this stole, as I know that it is to be worn by a Holy
Priest. In every stitch, I have thanked God for his vocation and prayed that he
is blessed!
